My dad’s stroke happened at 6AM Saturday morning, and there were SO many people praying for him. That afternoon, me, my mom, aunt, and some family friends prayed over him in the hospital, and the room was filled with the peace of God. Afterwards, my dad declared that at midnight he would be speaking normally (took him about 60 seconds to communicate that to us).

And sure enough, at midnight, he sang the song, “AMAZING GRACE” and then quoted this verse—

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

From unable to speak, and a droopy right side of his face at 6AM— to speaking normally and a big smile at midnight…

A MIRACLE. God is not done with him yet!

Dear friends of the Matchett Family..

A few weeks ago, my Dad got laid off from the job he’s worked for the last 27 years. This caused him to have quite a bit of stress, and he had a small stroke a couple days after, but was released the next day since there weren’t any long lasting damages to his brain. This morning, 10/21, he had another large stroke. He is not able to speak or formulate any words, and the right side of his body is damaged. My mom is now going to have to somehow take work off and care for him when he gets discharged. Since my Dad has lost his job, she is the only one in the household making money right now, so it’s been a really tough time. They have thousands in medical bills from his previous hospital visits, and other bills that need to get paid. If you find it in your hearts to give to my parents, it would be greatly appreciated. If you know my Dad, you know that he is the most kind, giving, hardworking human on the planet, and we are hoping and praying that he will recover from all of this but there is no guarantee. We love and appreciate you all. Thank you
