Help Ron Woodhouse Recover and Rebuild
Donation protected
My name is Rozlyn Marnell and I'm Ron's sister:
I'm posting this so all the people near and far who have at some point in their life been touched by Ron Woodhouse's generosity of heart and spirit can know what happened to Ron and hopefully be able to help us, help him, in his recovery.
On December 19, 2024, Ron had a seizure and fell on the concrete outside his former home. When he fell, he hit his head full force on the concrete walkway. Fortunately, a neighbor saw him on their security camera and called 911! Ron was taken to UC Irvine Med Center. He was in an induced coma from the day of his admittance until 1/17/25. Almost a month under heavy sedation. Ron has suffered all of the complications that go along with an injury of this magnitude. He's a fighter! He has endured some incredibly delicate and dangerous procedures done by outstanding doctors and nurses. Most of the procedures have a 50/50 survival rate and he beat all the negative odds! He has most recently been able to speak via a tracheotomy but will have that out as he builds his lung strength. Moving forward, he will need care in a rehabilitation facility to regain his strength and continue his journey towards healing. The doctors and nurses, especially the nurses, have taken such kind and thoughtful care of Ron and us, his family and friends, by keeping us informed during this very difficult time.
The day Ron's injury occurred, he became homeless and jobless. That's a situation we are still unraveling. We are hopeful to raise enough funds to help him during his recovery, get him securely housed, and back on his feet. We hope to have him transferred to Northern California, closer to his family and some very close friends who can help him through the challenging journey ahead.
Ron's buddy Roy (a friend of 40 years) told me a story about Ron coming to his rescue during a very dark time in his life. Ron recognized his friend's deep pain and swooped in to help him and guide him to a brighter place. I'm certain Roy isn't the only person that has experienced Ron's willingness to set himself aside and help a friend in need. We are committed to creating a healing, peaceful recovery for Ron. Hopefully not too far in his future, he'll be out for a ride on his beautiful motorcycle.
We know there are so many people suffering right now and hope your generosity can be spread among many. We just hope a little can come Ron's way. Because, as we all know, every little bit helps.
We will regularly post updates on Ron's recovery.
Thanks so much from the Woodhouse, Terry, Marnell, and Belcher families
