Help Rebuild Seaview Fisheries
Donation protected
Dear Family, Friends, and Supporters,
After five (5) years of hard work building my oyster fishing business known as Seaview Fisheries, I regretfully have to share that my livelihood has come to an unexpected halt! A couple of months ago, my deckhand crew members were fishing for oysters and they encountered severe weather conditions which caused the boat to rock from side-to-side and then tragically, the vessel tipped over completely and sank!
Ever since I was a little boy--I would say around 8 yrs old, I have always been fascinated with boats and dreamed of owning one of my own someday. After high school, I gain employment at a shellfish company and during that time I got the idea of starting my own business.
This disaster has left me without a boat, equipment, or any means
to continue the business that I have poured my hard work into after 10 years of planning and investing over $150,000. To make matters worse, my insurance policy will not cover the cost of the loss and
I am now faced with the devastating reality of being out-of-business.
Oyster fishing has been more than just a job to me--it has been a passion, a connection, and a source of pride. I built this business from the ground up and due to the lack of funds to recover from this situation financially and trying to pay business debt with very little personal finances. Therefore, I am asking for your support to help me rebuild and regain the business productivity of providing oysters to consumers.
Your funds would help me obtain the following:
- Purchase a new or used fishing boat
- Replace essential equipment and tools
- Covering initial operating costs to restart the business
I understand times are tough for everyone, however I would greatly appreciate any amount of support you could provide.
Thank you in advance for considering my request for assistance toward my journey to rebuild!
With Much Gratitude,
