Help Ronnie Glover with Medical Expenses
On January 4, retired City of Shelby employee, Ronnie Glover had an upper endoscopy with polyps removed. Later in the week, he developed vomiting blood and had to be rushed to Atrium Health Cleveland. It was found that the places where the polyps were removed had busted open and he had to have an emergency upper endoscopy to have the bleeding stopped.
While in the hospital, doctors ran labs and did a CT scan of his liver. The CT scan showed 2 tumors on his liver, one being the size of a baseball. It was determined that he has hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). He will have to undergo a PET scan to see if the cancer has metastasized. Doctors in Charlotte and Gastonia also want to do what is called a TACE procedure where chemo is directly injected into the tumors and blood supply to the tumors will be cut off. A month after having the TACE procedure, another CT scan will be done and the remaining parts of the tumors will be microwaved/ablated.
Ronnie’s hospital stay and upcoming procedure is not cheap and will require a lot of out of pocket expenses. The goal is to raise $12,000 to help with these out of pocket expenses.
Please help Ronnie and his wife Barbara in any way that you can. It will be a long journey ahead, and we hope that the financial burden is one that will not need to be worried about.
This diagnosis has come as a complete shock to him and his family. We ask that you keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. We will keep you updated on his progress through gofundme and Facebook.
Thanks Everyone!
Love Ronnie and the entire Glover Family ♥️
