Help Root Out Hunger in Western Washington
Tax deductible
Hi friends! This summer, I turn 24. I am running 24 kilometers to celebrate the occasion, and for each kilometer (and year), I would love to raise $100 to benefit Food Lifeline.
Food Lifeline (https://foodlifeline.org/) is an awesome organization here in Western Washington state. They call themselves "the food bank for food banks", and their approach to alleviating hunger accomplishes two important tasks: reducing unnecessary food waste, and distributing food to those who need it.
From their website, their 3-step approach is as follows:
(1) Food Lifeline sources surplus food from farmers, manufacturers, grocery stores, and restaurants.
(2) At the Hunger Solution Center, thousands of volunteers help sort and repack this food, preparing it for pickup and delivery.
(3) Food Lifeline provides this food to 350 food banks, shelters, and meal programs across Western Washington.
I am so inspired by their mission, especially their commitment to help reduce the hunger that 500,000 (!!!) Western Washingtonian kids experience when they cannot access free and reduced price school meals over the summer.
Want to join me in making a difference? Any donation will help make an impact, and GoFundMe will send collected funds straight to Food Lifeline. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me!
