Last year in October 2020, doctors discovered a large tumor in my moms skull. Within a couple of days my beautiful mother was diagnosed with a bone cancer called Osteosarcoma. Osteosarcomas of the skull are very rare, comprising less than 2% of all skull tumors. This type of cancer is very aggressive and they are mostly found in children and teenagers and found usually in the limbs. Since they found it in my moms skull and the fact that she is an adult makes her case very complex. The doctors needed to attack this cancer aggressively. She immediately began two intense 6-week cycles of chemotherapy to shrink the tumor.  Although there were many complications along the way, due to the severity and rareness of her cancer, the tumor was able to shrink and on December 22, 2020 she underwent major surgery to remove her tumor.

My moms surgery was very successful, the surgeon was able to remove 99% of her tumor, the remaining 1% was unable to be removed surgically. My family and I were so relieved and grateful for the successful outcome. Unfortunately the next day my mom suffered major complications. She developed blood clots in her leg that eventually traveled to her lungs. The doctors performed an emergency procedure and were able to remove most of the clots. It was a Christmas miracle that my mom survived what she went through. She has been in recovery for 1 month now and is still in the hospital, we are patiently waiting for her to come home. Soon she will begin radiation and additional chemotherapy to treat the remaining 1% left in her brain.

We love my mom so much. She is the most beautiful, selfless, and strongest person I know. She has been through so much and my family and I are doing everything we can to support her. Never did we expect our family to go through something like this and we did not expect to run into so many complications. As my mom focuses on her treatment and recovery, we’d like to avoid as much stress as possible, including the mounting expenses. If you can donate to help my mom fight cancer, my family and I will be forever grateful. All donations will go towards the mounting medical bills that we have accumulated from all of her hospitalizations since October, surgeries, ambulance rides, physical therapy, chemotherapy, and her upcoming radiation and additional chemotherapy treatments. Your love and support would mean so much to her.

Thank you for taking the time to read my moms story. If you can please share/post to spread her story it would be greatly appreciated. We know that it’s a hard time for everyone right now and even if you are unable to donate, continued prayers for her go a long way as our battle is not yet over. ❤️
