Help Rosemary's Family Rebuild After Fire

My name is Rosemary Stokes, I am the mother, mother-in-law, ang grandmother to Cory , Ann, Jaylon and Jakari . A visiting cousin , and I witnessed everything that was dear to them burn up in a fire and otherwise destroyed by smoke and water.

On Sunday night around between 8:30 and 9 pm Jaylon the (13) year old said he smelled smoke. He was in the upstairs bedroom. Jakari, the (8) year old was in the living room area playing a game on his Playstation. His cousin (12) year old cousin Taleb was at the dining room table playing on his Playstation when Jakari noticed smoke coming through the garage door. Taleb in a panic asked Jakari if he saw the smoke? Jakari says he jumped down from the high chair and went to open the door to the garage. He said he saw fire, closed the door and started yelling for his parents and his brother. Acvording to the Jakari. Taleb ran out first across the street telling the family to come to him, fearful the house would blow up. Jakari said his mom called the police (911) his dad moved the car back and they were crying and screaming as they watched and waited for help. By the time I was notified, the fire department was in place containing the fire. I live 4 houses from them but had to run to them as best I could in a panic. Cars were already lined up on the street on both sides of the firetruck. This ordeal went on for over 3 hours.

I'm telling this story not because we're desolate but because they lost everything they has to fire, smoke damage and water as the firemen had to go in through the front door, and later through the bedroom window after tearing it out. People tell us that material things can be replaced but it's a long process when you don't have renter's insurance and the kids are in summer school, basketball camp, and wear uniforms to work every day. All they salvaged were the clothes they were wearing at the time. I lost antiques inherited from my grandmother that are irreplaceable. My closest friends and in laws came immediately and brought donations for clothing and food. Fortunately I can give them shelter until they can afford their own place. My rent will surely go up as will utilities.
