Help Rowan and Kawthar Rebuild their Lives

Hi, we are a community of neighbours in South East London raising funds for our friends in Gaza, Rowan and Kawthar. In order to keep them safe, we have decided to anonymise this fundraiser.

Rowan and Kawthar are both from North Gaza, where the destruction of property and infrastructure has been near-total. They had to evacuate their homes with nothing, and have struggled to stay on their feet as both care for two children under 5. They have lost their houses, all their belongings, and most importantly their husbands, who were both martyred during the war.

Now that a ceasefire has been announced, they may be able to return to the site of their house, but there is no longer anything there-- and they need our help to rebuild their lives.

Rowan and Kawthar need around £820 each to replace essential items that they lost while being displaced-- jackets and shoes for the children, educational resources, etc.

They also need £575-820 a month each for rent, utilities, groceries, and other daily expenses. We are in contact with a family member of theirs, who will transfer the money to them directly.

We're hoping to fundraise enough for them to cover their expenses for 6 months, if not longer. This will allow Rowan and Kawthar to settle again, process the loss of the war, and begin a new life in Gaza.

We will also be announcing a series of fundraiser events in the next few months, so keep an eye out!
