Rowen's Story
Rowen Michael was born on November 16th, 2023, to my wonderful daughter and son in law, Maya and Mike Esposito. He is their third son. ( all under 5yrs old) His arrival has brought immense joy, as well as unexpected challenges, to their already busy young family.
Rowen was born with a significant birth defect of his gastrointestinal tract . It was not fully developed or functional. He also has kidney and urinary tract problems. On the second day of his life, he underwent his first surgery, which left him with a colostomy bag – a new reality that has added an extra layer of care for his parents.
The Ongoing Struggle
Despite the incredible efforts of his parents, his health journey has been a rollercoaster. He has already been hospitalized for a severe infection, and is currently on a strong antibiotic that is very hard on his little body.
What's next
After lots of research my daughter found him the best Dr's to deal with his complex condition. On May 9th he will have major reconstructive surgery at Boston Children's Hospital.
This upcoming surgery is just the first of at least two that he will need to undergo and he will definitely need extra care for several years. The outcome and long term prognosis is hopeful but concerning. We are praying for a true miracle and total restoration for Rowen. PLEASE JOIN US IN THAT PRAYER!
The need
The physical , financial and emotional toll on the family is immense. Maya and Mike, are working tirelessly to provide the best possible care, all while caring for his two brothers and trying to maintain their own livelihoods. My goal is to raise enough funds for at least a few months of their lost wages and added expenses to Boston and traveling to doctors appointments
I am Rowens Grandmother, Theresa Dobson (Yaya),and can't even relay the compassion and concern I have for all of them.
We are a small family and I know they have much need for more support. I knows that times are tough for many people and there is a lot of suffering and causes to pull at your heart , but I do believe we are the hands and feet of God and kindness and generosity is a gift to the giver as well as the ones in need.
Mike and Maya are doing everything they can to ensure baby Rowen receives the care he needs, but the mounting expenses are becoming a significant burden. They have had to take time off work to be by my side will have many more days of hospital and dr visits ahead also they have added travel costs to Boston.
How You Can Help
I am humbly asking for your support during this time. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be deeply appreciated and would go a long way in helping this family navigate this difficult journey. Your prayers and well-wishes are also invaluable.
Together, we can ensure that Rowen can receive the best possible care and that his parents can focus on his recovery without the added stress of financial worries. Your generosity will make a profound difference in our lives.
Thank you, and may God bless you.
