Help Roy & Valerie Battle Leukemia
Hello All, My name is Tasha and this fundraiser is for two beautiful individuals who can use our help during these trying times. They have not asked for any financial assistance, merely prayers, in hoping for a miracle. However, I am asking for them!
As an individual who has watched the toll cancer can have on a family member and their livelihood, I know financial assistance will go a long way. I ask you to please donate what you can to Roy and Valerie. To help make this difficult time a little easier, with less focus on finances and more focus on the health and wellness of Roy (and Valerie-his love and support).
Roy and Valerie have been together since 2003 and were married in 2005. Roy was an active member of the Weaverville Fire Department when they first met as an assistant fire chief. He has always had a desire to help people and give back to the community in which he resides. He had spent over 15 years with the department responding to emergency calls and capturing photos of his "fire department family" while in action. Those who know him recognize him as "a man with a big heart" and "one of the kindest men you'll ever meet".
Recently, Valerie began to notice Roy's decline in health and his more than usual fatigue on the daily. They sought out medical advice, where they were informed Roy has a rare form of Leukemia. Although there has been no definite prognosis as to what type of cancer as of yet, they do know is it is a sickness that lies within the bone marrow and he has a lot of fibrosis, that is not as full as it is supposed to be.
This new diagnosis has taken quite the toll on Roy and Valerie, as Roy's suffering is Valerie's suffering too.
Let us give back to those who have given so much to our small community we all love and enjoy! As mentioned previously, this couple is not asking for donations. If you cannot donate, please follow their request and PRAY! If you find yourself not a believer in prayer, please SHARE so others can be given the option to Donate/Pray. ANYTHING HELPS and thank you in advance!
If you would like to send a get-well card, please reach out to the Weaverville Fire Department at C/O: Weaverville Vol Fire Department, PO Box 1437, Weaverville CA 96093.
Donations also accepted at Weaverville Vol Fire Dept or Ace Hardware in Weaverville, CA.
