Help Ruben Ramirez and the farm after the boyles fire

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Yasmine Wilcox, and I'm writing this for my grandfather as he's not very fluent in writing in English and using the computer. In fact, many of you might know who my grandfather is. His name is Ruben Ramirez, and he owned the pig farm on 13th in the Avenues in clearlake California, the house with all the animals. I know he has done a lot for this community. I know a lot of people in the community know him, and that is why I'm reaching out to the community to ask for help.

My grandfather is a hard-working 75-year-old single parent who just lost his wife in March, and he is now the sole caretaker of his 15-year-old autistic daughter, with no job or income. Because of the fire he has lost every single thing he has worked for for years, and there's little to no hope of rebuilding without some kind of help

As many of you know, the Boyles fire destroyed a lot of homes and property. One of the homes and properties was my grandfather's. He owns several properties conjoined together and several houses conjoined together. Some of his animals passed away unfortunately, and he was not able to grab anything at all, not even any clothes or blankets to lay his and my aunts head down to rest at night.

My grandfather and his daughter (my aunt) are devastated, as well as the rest of the community, for everyone's losses.

I'm hoping to raise enough money possibly for a down payment on a house to rent and some simple commodities like a tent, air mattress, hygiene products and food supplies.

My grandpa doesn't want to leave town because my aunt has school, and she needs to finish the school year, I'm worried because that is a long time to be sleeping his car and my grandfather has bad back problems because he broke his back a year or so ago as well as my auntie is growing every day and I am worried for her emotional wellbeing.

He has little food money and few resources that he can utilize. He's got some food and clothes from some people, but it will not last him long, my hopes are to use these funds to help him rebuild even just a little bit

The mental effects of this are devastating as well on my Aunt Judy and my grandfather. They are traumatized; they lost all of their memorabilia from my grandmother. My grandfather has lost many things money cannot replace.

What I am concerned about is them going hungry, uncomfortable, and sad. My grandfather and my aunt did not deserve to lose everything except for the clothes on their backs. Thank you if you took the time to read this; anything at all helps. ❤️
