Help Ruby Heal After Severe Accident
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
On Friday October 25, one of my best friends, Ruby Wyles, was hit by a truck while biking. She spent a couple days in the hospital with ten (TEN!!) fractured ribs, a broken clavicle, a brain bleed and concussion.
While she's home now and starting to recover, it's going to be a long road. Moving, walking, getting up/down from bed, and concentrating are all extremely hard on her right now, making everyday things seem like an entire mountain to climb-- basic tasks like cooking healthy meals, working, getting to and from appointments/classes or the grocery store, and even just managing pain levels to sleep are nearly impossible.
Beyond the medical bills themselves, I'm sure the costs of trying to recover are starting to pile up as she's not able to work as much and money isn't coming in. Her situation is unique in that she's from England and living in the States as a student athlete. So while she definitely has friends, teammates, and coaches... there's no family network here to help her take care of the more immediate needs that come with injuries of this magnitude.
Let's support Ruby financially so she can focus on resting & healing. Here's a few examples of what your donations can help with:
-Basic bills and groceries
-Food delivery while she's unable to cook
-Rides to/from classes, appointments, etc. as she probably won't be riding her bike anytime soon
-Laundry & cleaning services
-Comfortable and loose fitting clothes/pajamas
-Any medications she might need
Ruby is truly one of the best humans I know. She loves hard, supports everyone around her, and is always giving to others. Thanks so much for joining me in this opportunity to give back to such a wonderful soul.
