Help Rugby Creek Rescue!

Hi, my name is Patrice and I am posting on behalf of the Smart family and Rugby Creek Rescue.

Rugby Creek Rescue and Equestrian Retreat is an earthly haven overflowing with peace, love and solace.

Whether it be loving on the animals, taking in the views from one of the rentals or hanging out with the family who makes it all possible-The Smart’s-Rugby Creek has planted itself in many hearts.

They have provided an amazing place of sanctuary for both animals and people for over 20 years in Mouth of Wilson, VA. The Smart’s are known for giving back and being a grand part of the community.

Last night 1/3/22 around midnight, the Upper Deck rental caught fire and much of the entire stable was affected. Thankfully no animals or people were hurt in this heartbreaking disaster.

The stable rentals including the Upper Deck, Crows Nest, and Barn loft along with the lower areas have been damaged due to fire upstairs. Water damage has affected down stairs where the office and laundry room reside.

This of course will affect their entire income for many months to come which in turn affects the animals that they help.

I’m asking for all of us to please dig deep and come together to give what you can-whether it be monetary, lending a helping hand in the future with rebuilding, or just praying for the Smart family.

We need to help preserve this special place and these special people whom we all love so much!
