Hurricane Debby's Toll

We lost our car during the recent Hurricane Debby here in Alachua, when it was smashed by a tall tree. We heard a tumultuous sound on Monday early morning hours.

The insurance company has written it off as a total loss, and we'll be getting a small amount for the lost car.

But the amount the insurance company will give us is not enough for a reliable replacement car to serve our purpose in value.

We are left with a 20-year-old unreliable vehicle that has an unrepairable fuel tank leakage, as well as an unresolvable transmission issue that causes frequent skipping. It can only be driven very short distances locally and is scary to drive.

My husband’s health condition

My husband Nitya-Siddha Das has been struggling with debilitating conditions for the past 14 months with no recovery in sight. He is struggling with prolonged lack of sleep that is creating a decline of devastating effects on his body, mind, and spirit. He has serious digestive challenge that has resulted in massive weight and muscle loss with other physical symptoms.

About Me..

I've been his sole caregiver for this entire period, while struggling with my own physical health, so I'm being stretched to the max.

As the sole financial provider for our family it’s been a huge setback. I do part-time cleaning work that requires I have a reliable vehicle to get to my client’s homes. As well as to take my husband to doctor's appointments and to handle daily tasks (we used our lost car for...)

Further more..

We have no medical insurance, but increasing amounts of health expenses: ER visit, various doctors, healing practitioners, supplements, etc. adding to the financial strain.

Hence..

We are urgently asking your help so we can purchase a reliable used car, to recover from this unexpected loss of our main car.
