Support Rula's Recovery After Gender-Affirming Surgery
Donation protected
Hey everyone! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. My name is Rula, and I’m reaching out for your help—something I don’t usually do because I’ve always prided myself on being self-sufficient. However, this time I'm stepping out of my comfort zone to ask for contributions to help cover expenses during my recovery from my first gender-affirming surgery: breast augmentation.
As an immigrant who initially moved to the US to study, I've been doing everything I can to build a life here. Since 2021, I've been able to transition both socially and medically, with the support of inclusive healthcare in Massachusetts and New York, which has allowed me to receive hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Since beginning my transition, I’ve felt happier than ever—it’s incredible to see how my body has positively evolved through this journey.
Now, I’m taking an essential step in my medical transition. Fortunately, my surgery is covered by insurance, but I still need assistance with recovery-related expenses. I work in a restaurant and freelance in theater, but my income barely covers my monthly bills. I need support for rent, food, medical supplies, and transportation—specifically rideshares to take me to and from the doctor, as I will be unable to use public transport or go out during my recovery.
No contribution is too small or too large. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this with your friends and family. Thank you so much for your support!
