Help Our Rural Kids Robotics Team Go Global!

Hi, we're the Techno Ninjas, kids' robotic teams from a rural community. We are reaching out to our community and beyond to seek support for our journey to compete as two of the four teams to represent Nova Scotia at the Robofest World Championship in Michigan, USA.

With the highest gross aggregated score in the provincial junior competition and a perfect score round for the senior team, our 10-year-old and 15-year-old kids from our small town have won against many private schools, despite limited resources. They worked hard to prepare for the competition and they are excited that they have qualified and are invited to compete in the international robotics competition in Michigan near Detroit this May.

Our kids are from regular families with siblings and our program is run by amazing volunteers. With the cost of living so high and the costs associated with flying to Detroit, securing accommodation, and providing meals, the financial demands of this trip bring challenges for our participating team members' families in this rural community.

This is where we turn to you, our beloved families, friends, and community, to be the wind beneath our wings. Your support can help us bring the team members to the competition, turning this dream into a shared reality. With your support, the kids will have the opportunity to earn a spot on the international robotics stage.

We will need $6000 CAD for flights, $6000 CAD for 4 nights of lodging and another $5000 CAD for food. There are also other costs such as registration fees and transportation to and from the university where the competition is being held.

The teams are coached by Jeff, Travis, Diane and Fred, volunteers. who pour countless hours into teaching and helping the kids with the intricacies of coding and robotics. This year, Diane was recognized as the provincial Robofest Outstanding Coach.
