Hi, I'm Donna Loftin, Rusty Loftin's wife. Those who know my husband, Rusty Loftin, know him as a gentle and kind soul of quiet service. He is a caring husband, Artist, devoted father, friend, and brother. Having to take time off work for previous medical treatment, stem cell transplant and closing his business for covid protocols has left us with no prudent reserve. The medical cost is not an issue as we have great insurance. The real problem is that we depend on Rusty’s income to live and pay the bills. We have not had time to recover financially from the disruption of illness and covid. We live a simple life in a small condo that we rent. Rusty is asking for enough money to help supplement his income so he can focus on getting well without financial worry, not having to move and not being forced to return to work before he’s ready. He has been cancer free from Multiple Myeloma (a plasma cell cancer) for about three years. He was recently diagnosed with a second cancer Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He has quickly become very sick and is currently hospitalized while undergoing chemotherapy. He is in good hands and has excellent care at UCSD Medical Center in San Diego. His prognosis is good, and his spirits are high.

The Doctors tell us that Rusty will remain in the Hospital for several weeks, and it will be a while before he is strong enough to return to work and the day-to-day life routine. They also recommend that he only return to Massage therapy part-time due to immune issues. Rusty would like to teach specific massage techniques using the online platform as part of his post-cancer journey. Rusty has been a medical massage therapist for close to 30 years now, helping others and removing pain. He genuinely loves what he does and is looking forward to returning to work and switching it up. The second cancer diagnosis has been emotionally and financially overwhelming for Rusty and me as we scramble to make ends meet. We hope the universe will smile upon us, and with faith, we will get through this rough spot with ease and a little help from our friends and family.
