Help Ryan get home to save his leg
Donation protected
Ryan Brooke is currently in Hosptial in Crete following a motorbike accident.
He has suffered major injuries to his right tibia, including multiple fractures, major soft tissue loss to the bone and major blood loss.
He has already undergone one major operation here in Crete to stabilise his leg, but he needs urgent surgery back in the UK (1 operation to fix the fractures and 1 plastic surgery for the soft tissue damage) to save his leg. The plastic surgery operation is not possible here in Crete. Unfortunately, the insurance company won't cover an air ambulance and he can't be discharged without one.
We are left with two options.
- Raise £45,000 to pay for a private company to bring him back to the UK
- Lose his leg, so he can be eventually discharged
Ryan was previosuly a 200 and 400 meter sprinter for England, as well as a keen rugby player. He works on his feet as a chef. The thought of him loosing his leg feels incomprehensable, given that it boils down to the ammount of money he has to pay to get home.
We need to try and help him.
His girlfriend Elaine is currently at his side and is workig alone in Crete to try and support him.
It is essential that he gets back to the UK urgently so that his leg can be saved and he stands the best chance of recovery.
