Help Saba and her Family Survive Famine and Genocide in Gaza

Donation protected
Welcome, everyone!

My name is Alyssa. I am based in Minneapolis. Over the past several months, I have been lucky to have gotten to know a sweet and clever girl from Gaza named Saba Abed.

Unfortunately, due to her previous fundraising campaign's issues, she had to make a choice to proceed with making a new link. Due to my experience in assisting with GFMs and location in the US, Saba asked me to help support her in this journey to fundraise for her family's current survival and future.

So let me introduce to you Saba…
Her family consists of 11 members; her two parents (48 years old & 38 years old), as well as her 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Saba (age 20) and her siblings range in age from 22 to age 4. Six out of the 11 family members are minors.

On October 7, 2023, our lives changed radically. Our house was destroyed, forcing us to flee and look for a safe place for my family. The conditions were very difficult, especially for my younger siblings who had to face this ordeal.

On October 17, 2023, we lost my uncle, killed by the occupation in cold blood!
My constant fear accompanies me of losing another person from my family.
Our hearts cannot bear the loss of another person.

Since May, my younger brother Rakan (age 7) who suffered a war injury to his eyes has been suffering from vision loss and his condition has not been improving. I appeal to you to let him go outside Gaza to complete his treatment abroad.

My brother Omar (age 14) suffers from asthma and allergies and needs treatment, fumigation, and oxygen daily, but it is not available due to the supply and power shortages. His condition became worse due to the smoke of the missiles and white phosphorus that the Israeli occupation dropped over us.

My grandfather is a cardiac patient and needs open-heart surgery as soon as possible.
He’s in a need of urgent surgery, but the destruction of hospitals prevented him from having surgery. Because of the siege and war, he cannot go outside the Gaza Strip to perform the operation and save his life.

Now, the crossing has been closed for over 100 days, but the cost remains $7000 + a person to leave Gaza. We need to raise money for the treatment of my brother and grandfather outside of Gaza. But the cost to live and the cost to leave is high.

After displacements and high expenses, we find ourselves not only homeless, but without a savings. There is not physical, financial or emotional safety for us in Gaza.

My family is currently living in a perilous zone, facing catastrophic circumstances every single day. The "humanitarian zone" continues to shrink and be attacked. We are running out of the most basic necessities for a decent and humane life – clean water, food, electricity, and shelter. The once vibrant community we knew has been reduced to rubble, leaving us in a constant state of fear and uncertainty.

Such tragedy lies in the daily struggle for survival that my family faces. Displacement has become our reality, and finding essentials like water, food, and medications has become a daily battle. There are nights when we go to bed hungry, unable to afford even the most basic sustenance. The scarcity of essential items in Gaza has driven prices to unimaginable heights, making it nearly impossible for us to afford what little is available.

Dear reader, I hope that you will share my family's story far and wide with your loved ones. Your donation, no matter how small, could mean the world to us. Every moment that passes in Gaza is a moment filled with the risk of death. Your generosity in this time of need will never be forgotten as it is a direct lifeline for us.

I want to emphasize that this is not just a fundraising campaign but a call for solidarity and empathy. Every support contributes to igniting the flames of hope. l thank you for every heart that reacts and supports.

Together, we can build a safer and brighter future for my family.

Your lmpact:
Every contribution, no matter the size, will play a crucial role in rebuilding not just a structure but a haven of love and security for my family. Your support goes beyond financial aid; it is a lifeline that helps us reclaim our sense of normalcy in these challenging times. This is an act of solidarity with us.

I am truly grateful for your time, consideration, and support. Your generosity will make a lasting impact on our lives, helping us turn the page towards a brighter, more hopeful chapter.

-Saba Abed and family

*In regards to transfers - I will work with Saba to transfer money directly to her in Gaza for her family's use. App of preference is Western Union. This money will be used for food, medical care/treatment, and basic necessities. Inshallah we raise enough to evacuate her brother, pay for her grandfathers heart surgery, and rebuild their lives with your support. This is the ultimate hope for this campaign for Saba and her family. Thank you.
