Help Sabrina During Difficult Time

Hi, I'm Nichole, Sabrina's sister. She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer on November 30th and had surgery on December 8th. It was intended to be a routine thyroidectomy surgery but things did not go as expected. The cancer was completely wrapped around the nerve in her left vocal cord, so the doctor reluctantly had to remove that nerve. She will never regain the functionality of her left vocal cord. The right vocal cord is paralyzed from the trauma of the surgery and we are still unsure if she will ever regain the functionality of that vocal cord. Because of this, the doctor had to do an emergency tracheotomy so that she could breathe.

On top of all of this 3 of her 5 children currently have Covid which is scary under normal circumstances but Bree cannot get Covid as her lungs are directly exposed with the trach. So we are doing everything we can to quarantine those affected and limit exposure.

The trach was a huge shock to Bree and all of us and she will be off work until further notice. She has only been at her job for 10 months so she does not qualify for FMLA and all of her time off will be unpaid. She will require additional surgery and radiation in early 2022. As many of you know she is a single mom of 5 beautiful children and has spent all her savings on Christmas. We, her family are helping of course but medical equipment, rent, bills, and other expenses are piling up.

Bree was very reluctant to do a goFundme because she is proud and a hard worker and would rather go without but sometimes we all need help from those around us, so please if you can donate she would be very grateful.
