Help Sacha recover from a severe car crash
Donation protected
Early in the morning on January 3, Sacha was in a horrific car crash on her way to work. Thankfully she is alive--in no small part due to the first responders who used the “jaws of life” to cut her out of the car. During her 10 days in the critical care unit, Sacha endured 3 surgeries for broken bones, face degloving, and more. So many of us found out about this in her birthday Facebook post.
Until the car wreck, Sacha has always been an active person: hiking, running, paddle boarding, and rock climbing with her new puppy. The doctors informed her that she won't be able to put weight on her left leg for 3 months and an additional 4 months before she can use her arm and leg well enough to return to working as a physical therapist.

Shortly after being transferred home in January, she received a $100,000 bill from the hospital. Our health care system is notorious in these types of situations; even if her insurance comes through with their share, she will have significant costs from the initial hospital stay, plus followup costs for her long recovery and 6 months unable to work.
Please consider contributing to keep Sacha afloat while she can't work and while she recovers on her own, far from her support community. The funds we raise will be used to help her pay her living costs--rent, grocery deliveries, and a car rental to use to get to doctor appointments (since she now doesn't have a car)--until she can start working again, hopefully by July.
Sacha is a great human, as I'm sure those who know her would agree! Let's help her not get bogged down any more than she already is by this setback.
If you were thinking of sending her flowers, or if you've wanted to reach out in some way but haven't known what will be most helpful, please consider donating here or contacting us for more ways to get her through this.
Thank you for your support of Sacha, and please share!
