Help Salah and his family in Gaza - For a Brighter Future

Hi, I'm Inês, from Portugal, and I’m reaching out to you with a deep sense of hope on behalf of my dear friend, Salah Ostaz, from Gaza, Palestine.

Salah is one of the kindest and bravest souls I’ve ever known. Over the past year, it has been nothing short of a life-changing experience to witness his unwavering strength and courage through the unimaginable hardships he has faced.

Today, I’m asking for just a few minutes of your time to read his story. If you are able, any contribution, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference in helping Salah and his family survive the horrors of Gaza and build a future where he can live safely.

Salah's story:

Salah and his family are from northern Gaza. A year ago, their home, belongings, and memories were completely destroyed. Some of their relatives and friends were killed. They have lost everything.

Salah’s university studies were tragically interrupted by the war. He was about to finish his degree in Computer Engineering and, against all odds and despite all the challenges, he continued studying and taking exams online throughout the past year.

The bombings and constant threats forced them to flee north and seek refuge in a part of the country less devastated by the war, south of Gaza City, where they lived in a tent on the streets in poor condition, without any protection from the cold and rain. Day and night, they were terrorized by bombings, and the fear and the smell of death were always present.

Over the past 15 months, they have faced unimaginable suffering, struggling for basic survival.

With the ceasefire in early 2025, Salah and his family returned to their hometown, after a long and very expensive journey, only to be confronted with a city completely in ruins. The destruction is overwhelming, and they are currently still living in a tent in a city with no basic infrastructure—electricity, water, sanitation, or heating.

Their situation is dire - they are in desperate need of food, water, clothes, blankets, medicins - essentials that many of us take for granted.

The instability they face grows worse with every passing day.

The inflation of prices in Gaza since the beginning of the war has turned people's lives into a true martyrdom of suffering: my friend is currently paying 70$ for a bucket of water for domestic use.

As the organizer of this campaign, I'm doing everything in my power to help Salah and his family survive this nightmare.
