Help Saleem El Amin

Hi, my name is Rashad El Amin and I am fundraising for my father Saleem El Amin.

On Sunday April 3rd approx 8pm my father was in a devastating car accident in Lancaster, CA.

The jaws of life had to remove his lifeless body from the car and then he was airlifted to the Antelope Valley Hospital. Miraculously he survived the horrendous accident. Over the first week of his stay at the hospital, he had major surgery repairing his left shoulder and arm, 4 plates put in his ribs, hip surgery and broken pelvis repair.

He has not been able to sit up in bed in over 4 weeks. His body has sustained incredible injuries and he has a long road to recovery. This past week he was moved to a skilled nursing facility where he will be working towards building strength and mobility in his body. This could take months perhaps years. Once the skilled nursing facility feels he is ready, the 2 criteria are he can bend/ reach towards his toes and slightly bare weight on his legs he will then be moved to an acute rehabilitation center. This is the best case scenario. At this time there is a lot of unknown. Currently, he is at risk of being released from the skilled nursing facility if he does not have improvement soon. In the event that this occurs he will have to be cared for by family members.

We are reaching out to raise funds for Saleem to help support him during this difficult time. Funds will first and foremost go towards paying outstanding bills. Saleem has been running his auto mechanic business, Elamin Automotive, for over 40 years in Inglewood, Ca. We need to help save his property. His inability to work at this time puts this at risk. He also has a 15 year old son who he supports financially. Additional funds will be used for his support and care for this long journey back to health.

Saleem has been a fixture and a good friend of the Inglewood community for over 50 years. He is a founder member of the community service organization, Maximum Force also known as PCITI, where he has dedicated years of his life to decrease community violence, support gang intervention, and helping others get jobs and back on the right path to better their lives.
