Help Salem Fair Shooting Victim - D Wesley!

UPDATE Wednesday, July 14th -  D is up and walking.  Marlon said he is very determined to get his lung back to 100%. 


D Wesley-Brubeck was seriously injured on June 30th when a juvenile, unknown to him, shot him senselessly at the Salem County Fair. He has mounting medical bills and as friends & coworkers of his dad, we are setting up this GoFundMe account to help offset the immediate medical costs and any future costs his parents will incur. 

D was shot in the upper back - it broke a rib, went through his lung, and lodged in his chest.   D had a tube in his lung to drain the excess fluids and to keep it from collapsing.  This helped him breathe easier.  They have removed the tube in his lung as of this weekend.  His family is praying that his lung will continue to heal.  If it does, D should be released from the hospital soon.  As of 7/12, he has already spent 13 days in the hospital.  

D is the beloved son of Marlon Wesley & Kacey Brubeck. He is at Senior at Radford High School who maintains a 4.0. He is a star athlete who excels in Football. He is much loved by his parents, his little sister, a large family, and many friends!

His dad always refers to him as #GodsSon.  Let me share why from his dad....

And I can pretty much sum up what D’s like by telling you the first words he said to me after being shot and having a tube rammed through your chest plate (while awake)…he said his friend went to the bathroom right before the shooting happened and that he was walking directly behind my son, and that he just thanks God it wasn’t his friend that got shot....  D also went on to say, “I’m not mad at the kid that shot me” “I’m praying for him.” “He must’ve had a bad life to get that mad and shoot soo quick!”  This brought me to tears!! Cause D has ALWAYS been about love...that’s why I call him God's Son...he’s the embodiment of LOVE....
