Help Sam Buy a Car to Get to Work!

Hi Friends! We know everyone is stretched really thin these days, but if you’re in a position to donate please consider contributing to this fundraiser. A few weeks ago my friend Shadan Shamloo told me about Sam, a nice man who works at the deli department at Gelson’s Market in Newport Beach. Sam had told Shadan about how he had recently been the target of racial attacks and hate while working outside the grocery store. This past Thursday, Shadan and I were picking up food outside of Gelson’s and she spotted Sam. He spent the rest of his break speaking with us. We learned that Sam’s car is inoperable and that he takes the bus to work from Anaheim everyday. His commute is about 3 hours each way and requires him to change buses 3 times. This makes his total commute time almost 6 hours. This is partly because of limited bus schedules due to Covid. His long commute has also forced him to have to reduce his hours at work, severely limiting his earnings. As Sam was telling us his story, he kept emphasizing that he was not complaining and was happy to have job he loves. This fundraiser is legitimate. We met and spoke to Sam ourselves. We directed, photographed, and edited this photo ourselves. We will make sure he gets the funds and will help him purchase a used car ourselves.
