Help My Family in Gaza

Please help this deserving family survive the Gaza massacre. Seven months ago, Samah abu Askar wrote, “The ongoing genocidal war on Gaza is now in its sixth month. Our family has decided to leave Gaza to preserve the lives of our children, aged 6, 8 and 10, so that they can live in safety and peace and have opportunity to learn.”

Unfortunately, fleeing to Egypt proved prohibitively expensive, and our group couldn't raise the necessary funds. Israel has almost completely destroyed the Gaza strip through bombing and starvation, at the same time making it nearly impossible to leave. But Samah and the people of Gaza are determined to survive.

We are helping them live. For the last six years, our group has helped Samah and her husband Ahmed maintain their family and support her community in Gaza. In return, she gives us on the ground reports and wonderful pictures that show the beauty of her people and what is truly going on in Gaza.

My name is David Spero, and I have known Samah and Ahmed through social media for seven years. The money you send comes to my account in San Francisco. I send your contributions to Ahmed and Samah by wire transfer monthly.

This will be an ongoing campaign until we can get them out and safe, or until Israel's siege of Gaza ends. The total raised amount represents years of support.
