We hope this message finds you well. Today, we reach out to ask for your support for our dear friend, Samantha, a 22-year-old vibrant young woman, whose life took an unexpected turn after a sudden, severe medical emergency.

The Incident:

While at the gym, Samantha experienced an alarming incident where she became dizzy, lightheaded, and almost passed out. While she was laying on the ground barely conscious bystanders rushed to her aid, noticing her lips turn blue and her face pale white. Paramedics were called immediately. Unfortunately, Samantha's heart rhythm was dangerously irregular (V-tach, with a pulse of 260 bpm). While in the ambulance the paramedics had to make a decision, and quickly. They saved her life by deploying the ambulance's defibrillator. Samantha, being conscious, experienced the full brunt of the defibrillation shock, feeling it throughout her entire body, even in her teeth. She was quickly take to the emergency room at Piedmont Henry Hospital.

The Challenge:

Samantha has been in the hospital since the 14th of September, and it is still unknown when it will be safe for her to be discharged. She was transferred to a specialized cardiovascular center, where she has a dedicated team of doctors and healthcare specialists working on her situation. Despite numerous tests including ultrasounds, CT scans, and MRIs, and a stress test doctors are puzzled, unable to determine the cause of her condition. Samantha and her healthcare team face a conundrum, grappling with making crucial decisions about her treatment and long-term health, without a clear understanding of her mysterious ailment. The doctors are so puzzled by her condition that they advise sending her to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota to see world renowned cardiovascular expert Michael J. Ackerman, M.D., Ph.D.

This is to determine if she will need a permanent defibrillator implant, as well as any procedures to correct her heart rhythm.

Faith & Hope:

Samantha, who is a devout Christian, narrowly escaped an untimely death. The doctors, paramedics, and medical staff have all said that it is a miracle that she even made it to the hospital and that by the grace of god she survived. This experience will forever be a part of her testimony and faith, demonstrating the unfathomable power and grace of the Almighty and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Such as visiting cardiovascular expert Michael J. Ackerman, M.D., Ph.D., in Minnesota. She has been burdened with the financial expense of long hospital stays, on top of mounting everyday bills.
