Help Samantha Shine at Passport to Discovery

Hi my name is Samantha Senek, and I am a 19 year old college student. I currently attend RACC, after graduating from Wilson High School, and am majoring in communications with plans to attend another college in a couple years to complete my Bachelor’s. While in high school I participated in cheerleading and am now attending Barbizon Modeling and Acting School.

I currently have the amazing opportunity to attend the Passport to Discovery program in Orlando, FL, hosted by Barbizon from July 28th to August 1st. I was chosen by talent scout Laura Gentry to attend the event after a competition in Harrisburg, PA. This event will allow me to share my talents with national and international scouts, directors and agents looking for models and actors. In addition to potential modeling opportunities, I am hoping to be able to win some of the scholarship opportunities and to connect with others to help guide my path in my communications degree. I have a passion for engaging with my modeling community, learning from others, and building physical and cognitive skills that help me to manage scripts, walk the runway, and express myself to others in a professional manner but still allowing my big personality to shine through.

Passport to Discovery will help me to build confidence, foster creativity, push me outside of my comfort zone, teach me new communication skills and hopefully lead to lasting friendships. The Passport to Discovery Program also offers parent education and involvement. I am hoping that through your generosity I will be able to bring my mom with me on this journey. My mom will be able to attend parent classes as well as see me complete in contests and showcases.

As with any exciting adventure there are costs to the Passport to Discovery program. Your donations will cover:

Program Fees $4,000

Parent Program Fees $2,000

Individualized Training and Coaching [Included in Program Fees]

Airfare to and from Orlando estimated $400

Transportation while in Florida estimated $150

Lodging [Included in Program Fees]

Necessary items for Competitions and Showcases $ 550

Fees for Competitions $300

Any additional funding will help offset unforeseen costs with travel and competitions. While I am working, as I attend my college classes, my job as a home healthcare aid does not provide the financial stability to fund all of these expenses.
