Help Samar Keep Her Young Family Alive in Gaza

My name is Samar from the destroyed city of Gaza, we have been displaced here with more than twenty people in a small apartment, most of them are children and women. We lived the horrors of the bombing on us in Gaza, it was a terrible bombing that I cannot describe. It is a real tragedy and suffering. My apartment was in Gaza, and we were forced to flee to Rafah. After the Israeli threat to destroy Rafah, we fled to Deir al-Balah, where we are now. Because we are now without homes, without hospitals, without schools, for almost a year, our children have no future and no hope in life.

We cook food in this hot climate by burning wood and our children get sick because of the water pollution. The famines here are very big because of the lack of food, especially the lack of fresh vegetables.

For months we have been without work. We get sick. We do not find any medicine. Our children are hungry and sick. We want to stay alive. I hope that you will support us in getting out of here and finding safety and peace.

My name is Christa Robinson and I am a graduate student at Michigan State University. I have been corresponding with Samar for months now online. She has formed a collective with other families to stay sheltered in an apartment rather than on the street. Even still they sleep on the floor on cardboard boxes and do not live in comfort. Even in the cramped conditions, Samar took in another young family and rescued them from being without any shelter of any kind on the street. It is expensive, not only have the prices for food and basic needs risen exponentially, but landlords also still charge rent in genocide, and they must raise $700 every month. If they should face evacuation orders as Israel continues to push forward in Deir al-Balah, they will need to buy multiple tents which can cost $1000 each.

They will use your donations to meet their basic daily needs like food, water, shelter, clothing, household goods and medical care. Urgent donations are needed, and regular donations are very welcome. I will transfer the donations to Samar via PayPal.
