Help Sami's Husband and Two Babies After Her Sudden Passing
Donation protected
My cousin, Sami, passed away unexpectedly yesterday. She had just turned 34 years old and leaves behind two baby girls - 5 weeks old and 22 months old - and her high school sweetheart, Matt.
Sami had complained of headaches and stomach pains in the weeks following her recent C-section. She went to the hospital twice and was sent home, believing the blood clots she was passing were her period returning or kidney stones. Sami's younger brother, Wesley, was visiting from out of state to help Sami with the girls while Matt went back to work as an electrical lineman. Sami was in pain and laid down to rest, but a long time passed and Wesley didn't know what the next steps were with his newborn niece. When he went to check on Sami, he found her unresponsive on her bed.
Sami was rushed to the hospital where Matt was by her side, while Wes stayed with the babies at home. Matt was told she had blood clots and bleeding in her brain and she needed to get emergency surgery to relieve pressure. As they started performing the surgery, they pronounced her brain dead. My aunt and uncle were able to fly out from California to Texas so that Sami could be surrounded by her family when her heart stopped beating.
All Sami ever wanted was to be a mom and to love Matt and be loved back in return. She called her mom no less than 5 times daily and spoke to her dad every day on his way to work. She was kind, sensitive, sentimental and silly and loved all animals. Typing this doesn't seem real.
Your generous donation will be used to cover Sami's medical bills, burial and funeral expenses and help Matt with childcare expenses as he learns how to survive with his new normal as a single father of two babies. My aunt, uncle, and cousin are all doing what they can, but will eventually need to fly back home and go back to work themselves.
Please share Sami's story and hug your loved ones extra tight today.
Thank you so much for your love and support while we navigate this excruciating pain and shock. No donation is too small.
Warmly,
Jen
