Please Help Me Rebuild My Life After a Series of Medical Emergencies

Hello, my name is Sandie Kloszewski, and I am reaching out to ask for help during one of the most difficult periods of my life.

I never imagined that at 61 years old, I would find myself unable to work, without reliable transportation, struggling with medical expenses, and uncertain about how I will meet my basic needs. I am currently single, have no income, and live in Erie, Pennsylvania, in Harborcreek Township.

My Recent Medical Journey

In June 2025, I was hospitalized at UPMC Hamot as an inpatient for a pulmonary embolism.

Then, in February 2026, my health took another devastating turn. I suffered several heart attacks and had to be defibrillated eight times. Doctors placed three stents, but additional blockages were discovered. Ultimately, I needed open-heart surgery and underwent a triple bypass in May 2026.

During my medical emergencies, my oxygen levels were severely compromised for an extended period. Since then, I have experienced significant difficulties with my memory, balance, and coordination. I forget things frequently, my balance is not what it used to be, I run into things, and I have fallen.

These problems have made it extremely difficult for me to return to work and support myself.

A Little About My Past

My health challenges did not begin recently.

On March 10, 1997, I was struck by a motor vehicle and was thrown through the windshield. My right arm was severed and surgically reattached. I also suffered three fractured vertebrae and severe head, brain, and facial injuries.

I have three plates in my head and have undergone facial reconstruction.

After recovering, I refused to let those injuries define my future. I attended Arizona State University in Tempe and went on to build a career in the aerospace and automotive industries, working in positions including General Manager, Production Manager, and Industrial Engineering.

I worked hard, built a life for myself, and always tried to be independent.

Today, I am facing circumstances that I cannot overcome on my own.

Why I Need Your Help

I currently have zero income. I receive approximately $298 per month in SNAP/EBT assistance, and an organization is currently helping me with my rent—but that assistance will eventually end.

My health insurance does not cover some of my prescription medications, and I have very high copays for my medical appointments.

To make things even more difficult, the engine in my car blew, leaving me without a vehicle. Transportation has become another major challenge, especially with my ongoing medical appointments and health issues.

I am scared about what the future holds.

I am asking for help because I want to be able to focus on getting through this difficult chapter without constantly worrying about how I will afford my medications, medical care, transportation, housing, and everyday necessities.

Every Donation Matters

If you are able to donate, any amount—large or small—would mean more to me than I can put into words.

Your support could help me with:

Prescription medications and medical expenses

Doctor visits and copays

Transportation

Repairing or replacing my vehicle

Rent and basic living expenses

Food and other necessities

If you cannot donate, sharing my fundraiser with your friends, family, and social media contacts would also help tremendously.

After everything I have survived—from a devastating accident in 1997 to pulmonary embolism, multiple heart attacks, eight defibrillations, stents, and open-heart surgery—I am not ready to give up.

I am asking for a helping hand so I can have a chance to regain some stability, continue receiving the medical care I need, and rebuild my life.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for caring, and for anything you are able to do. Every donation, share, prayer, and kind word means so much to me.

With gratitude,

Sandie Kloszewski
