Two Artists, Three Cancer Diagnoses, One Dream: A Campervan for Healing

In the past year, our lives have been turned upside down. I’m Sandor, a visual artist working with infrared photography, cyanotypes, digital and analog photography, nature art installations, and performance art. My wife, Erika, is a handmade creator inspired by nature.

In less than six months, we were both diagnosed with cancer - three types between us - leading to three major surgeries, chemotherapy, and countless medical complications. Despite everything, we are determined to keep living, creating, and finding peace in nature. But with ongoing treatments and frequent hospital visits, we can’t travel abroad or plan traditional holidays. That’s why we are fundraising for a used campervan - to give us the freedom to explore, rest, and heal in the landscapes that inspire us.

Why a Campervan?

Nature is our refuge. It helps us heal, both physically and mentally.

We need flexibility. Medical appointments can come suddenly, and this would allow us to travel without worrying about last-minute accommodation.

Staying in the Highlands is expensive. A campervan would let us explore without the financial burden of hotels.

We can’t travel outside the UK. With ongoing treatments, this is the best way for us to experience life and make the most of our time together.
