Help Sandy Bartlett Battle Back from Cancer

Hi, my name is Brent Bartlett, and I'm fundraising today for my Father, Sandy Bartlett. Many people already have heard, but I will start at the beginning for those who have not.

Several months ago, my father had a false alarm scare that ended up with him in the hospital. By the grace of God, this impromptu trip to the hospital resulted in some routine blood work catching a critically low white blood cell count. Several weeks after his initial visit to the hospital, Sandy was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Hairy Cell Leukemia. Sandy was determined to beat Cancer and is fortunate enough to have a fantastic team of doctors (some of the best in their field) to help him begin his treatment. Sandy just recently completed what will hopefully be the last round of this treatment for Leukemia and is now in the lengthy recovery stage. So far, his white blood cell count has started to climb back up, and we are hopeful that the treatment will have proved to be effective.

Although there is plenty to be grateful for, he is not out of the woods just yet. More time will be required to determine if the treatment was a complete success and furthermore the end of treatment means that the medical bills will start coming in. His treatments were extensive and because of the fragile state of his immune system there were lots of return/overnight visits to the ICU for multi-day observation. Although medical insurance is covering a a lot, the amont of out-of-pocket expenses will be totaling well in to the many thosands of dollars. Sandy has also had to quit his part-time job because of his illness and won't be able to return anytime soon, making the incoming medical bills that much more daunting. The last thing that anyone should have to worry about after battling through cancer is spending their lifesavings on medical bills and having to worry about finances.

I'm setting a goal of $15,000 to help Sandy battle back from cancer and and get back on his feet again. Sandy has been very active in the Mankato area and has personally helped many others in times of need, so i expect that we should have no problem crushing this goal. Lets Go.
