Support Sandy with medical and recovery care
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Cherie and I am fundraising for my sister, Sandra.
She is someone I have looked up to and admired my whole life. She was born with cerebral palsy but has always lived independently. She graduated college, worked, traveled; living a full life until October 2021. We are completely devastated and heartbroken, but have hope in the Lord and all of you. She sustained an injury to her neck called Cervical Myelopathy which causes compression on the spinal cord. This progressed quickly causing loss of movement and numbness in her upper body rendering her totally dependent on care. She had neurosurgery to take compression off the spine and to stop any progression that can lead to total paralysis and eventual death. In addition, neurosurgery was done to heal the spine; hopefully recovering some or all mobility. Healing of the spine is a very slow process and she needs continued medical and personal care along with physical and occupational therapies. Her neurosurgeon says it can take up to a year or sometimes more after surgery for complete healing. She also needs mobility equipment such as a powered wheelchair. We all (including Sandra) have exhausted all finances. She is still in desperate need of continued personal and medical care so that she can be home; relearning movements and basic skills to regain mobility and independence again. Please, I am asking for help so my sister can continue in her fight to recover and be independent once again. We are so grateful for any and all prayers and donations. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and may the Lord bless you a 1000fold.
