HELP SANNA JARJU RECONCILE WITH HIS FAMILY
FAMILY OF A GAMBIAN MAN WHO HAS BEEN IN A LOCAL US COUNTY JAIL FOR 4 MONTHS NEEDS HELP TO RECONCILE WITH HIS FAMILY
The family of Sanna Jarju, a 40 year old man from Jiborro Village in Western Region of The Gambia is asking for help to retain the service of a lawyer who can help their loved one get out of a local jail in Maryland where he has been languishing since March this year.
The Jiborro born who attended St. Augustine’s Senior Secondary School lived in Brikama throughout his stay in Gambia until the time he traveled to the USA in 2009. He lived in Anchorage Alaska before moving to Maryland about 5 years ago where he stated until the time if his arrest.
According to a close family member who chooses to remain anonymous,
Mr. Jarju who lives in Silver Spring Maryland was asked to report himself or risk being arrested in March this year to answer questions about an allegation made against him. When he turned himself in, he was arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Clarksburg, Maryland.
It is important to note that Sanna spent both Ramadan and his birthday in Jail and he will also spend Tobaski there today. The Jiborro born never had access to a lawyer throughout this 4 months. However, he has a 3 day trial coming up next month August 31st when 12 Jurors will decide his fate.
Talking to this reporter from the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, the desperate Sanna who stand a chance of being deported if he does not have a good legal team said "Pa Ous, please japa si. Tell my Gambian people to help me to get back to my family. I have been here for 4 months now and it is not fun. I really wana go back to my family." Said Mr. Jarju .
Mr. Jarju left behind a spouse and a 3 year old boy. She too was also implicated in the case and went to jail for 2 days prior to being released. Her 9 year old boy is taken away from her but she has a hearing coming up at the end of this month. Because of many circumstances, she too loss her job and is currently facing a lot of difficulties. She needs help to put a roof over her head, pay her bills, buy groceries, take care of the baby's needs and support Sanna.
Sanna Jarju and his spouse need a good legal team who can represent them in court. Unfortunately, they have no money to retain the service of a lawyer and/take care of their basic needs. They need at least about $20,000.
