Help Santa Dan Recover and Spread Joy Again!

Santa Dan Short has dedicated his life to bringing joy to others through his community involvement, leading various charities while also embodying the spirit of Christmas as a beloved Santa Claus for decades. So much so, that generations of families fondly remember visiting Santa Dan as children and now bring their own kids to experience the same magic.

Earlier this year, as Dan prepared for another season of bringing smiles to children's faces, he faced a serious health challenge. Persistent lower back issues led him to make the difficult decision to undergo major back surgery to regain the mobility needed to continue his work being Santa Claus.

The initial surgery was successful. However, as Santa Dan was recovering in a rehab facility, a life-threatening infection developed necessitating an additional surgery and an extended recovery period and hospital stay. Because the infection involved his spinal column and the surrounding nerves, the second surgery resulted in significant pain. A month after that surgery, Dan continues undergoing treatments to fully eradicate the infection, all the while working hard to regain his strength and stamina. Unfortunately, a significant portion of unexpected medical expenses, extending into many thousands of dollars, were not covered by insurance.

At 80 years old, Dan’s commitment to being Santa Claus remains unwavering, but these unforeseen costs have created a financial strain. We are asking for your support to help him get back on his feet – literally and figuratively – hopefully in time for this holiday season. Your generous donation will help cover his medical bills and related expenses, allowing Dan to focus on healing and getting back to what he loves most—being Santa Claus for all the children and families who cherish him.
