Help Santiago and His Family Rebuild After Devastating Fire

In the early hours of Monday, April 21, 2025, just after Easter celebrations, tragedy struck our beloved employee, Santiago Lecorchick, and his family. Around 12:30–1:00 AM, a fire caused by overturned grill coals engulfed their home in flames. Santiago and his father escaped unharmed, but their home and all their belongings were destroyed.

Santiago, a high school student at Seneca Valley, was working on homework in the basement after a late gym session when he noticed a burning smell and saw his ceiling turning black. Realizing the danger, he found the door knob too hot to touch but bravely rushed to his father’s room, ensuring they both escaped safely. By the time firefighters arrived, the house was completely engulfed. The upstairs was destroyed, and the basement, though unburned, is now buried under feet of debris and water from firefighting efforts.

Santiago is an exceptional young man and a valued member of our team at Henry’s Meat Market. Through his work-study program, he arrives daily at noon to package products, learn business operations, and brighten everyone’s day with his positive attitude. He’s loved by colleagues and customers alike, which makes this loss even more heartbreaking. Raised with strong values, Santiago is the kind of person who would help anyone in need.

With the full permission of Santiago and his father, we’re sharing their story to rally support. The Lecorchick family are kind, resilient people who now face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives. They’ve secured temporary housing but need help to replace essentials like clothing, household items, and school supplies. We’re aiming to raise $15,000 to assist with these immediate needs and support their long-term recovery.
