You can read Sara’s cancer story above, but I’ll provide a condensed version here.
On September 6, 2016, Sara was diagnosed with Stage III rectal cancer. After intense treatment and many surgeries, she was eventually declared cancer free. In August 2018, Sara’s cancer spread to her liver. It was now Stage IV but surgery to remove the two spots on her liver was deemed curative. In late December 2018, another spot was found on her liver and several new spots were found on her lungs. We’re now in round three of trying to help Sara beat this awful disease.
Sara is married to Jarod and together they have three children, Callum (10), Brittyn (8), and Camden (3). Before starting chemo, Sara and her family were able to spend a few days at Disney World together making a lifetime of memories. It was an amazing experience none of them will ever forget!
Since Sara’s cancer is proving to be very stubborn, she is trying to get into a trial to beat this disease for good. Living in North Dakota means her options are limited so she has to travel to quite a bit to receive additional care not available in Fargo. Travel costs are now piling up on the never-ending stack of medical bills.
Sara is the most selfless person I know. When her cancer returned in August 2018, instead of feeling bad for herself she jumped into action and started a nonprofit called Love Your Buns. Sara never wants the spotlight to be on her but she’s the most happy, caring, kind person and she deserves our help!
Sara starts chemo on Monday, February 25, 2019 and is hoping to get into a trial at Columbia in NYC. She’ll find out in about six weeks if she qualifies for the trial. The bills are coming in hot and if we can relieve some of the stress caused by medical bills from her life, she’ll be able to spend more time focusing on herself and her family.
No donation is too small and every donation is appreciated. I’m not sure why cancer chose Sara, but unfortunately it always seems to find the good people. Please help however you’re able. If you can’t help with a donation, please consider sharing the link to spread the word.
Let’s help Sara kick cancer to the curb for good!!!
