Help Sarah and the kids get back on their feet

Donation protected
For those of you who know my cousin Sarah(more like my sister), she is always the one who helps other people even when she can't always help herself.

On December 23, 2023 she had a house fire while visiting in NJ. Now she has to start over with finding a place to live and getting the necessities needed to furnish and cloth not only herself but her 14 year old son and 10 year old daughter. Here is her post from FB along with the newpaper article.

Last night I received a phone call to tell me that my house was on fire. We are all safe. Granger is safe thanks to my cousins. I'm still in a state of shock and devastation all at the same time. I'm reminded that the most important things are safe and that's a blessing. The house will have to be demolished but there are some things that may be salvageable before hand. All I can say is please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. We are here in NJ until Jan 2nd. Until then I have no idea what will be able to be saved and what can't be.

Butler Eagle:

HERMAN — A fire partially extinguished itself due to a lack of oxygen, but still heavily damaged a home when no one was home Saturday night, Dec. 23.

The fire at 117 Schnur Road was reported at 7:49 p.m. and flames in the first floor living room were visible through the windows when firefighters arrived, said Rob Shuler, chief of the Herman Volunteer Fire Company.

Firefighter quickly extinguished those flames and discovered the second floor, including the bedrooms, were burned, but the fire was mostly out, he said.

“The second floor put itself out by the time we got inside,” Shuler said. “It started burning, it got oxygen deprived and put itself out. It’s one of those fires you don’t see often.”

The house contained a lot of clutter that made it a challenge for firefighters to move around inside, he said.

He said a neighbor smelled smoke and called 911 after he went to the house to feed the homeowner’s dog, which was being kept in the detached garage while the homeowner is away.
The house was severely damaged and will probably have to be demolished, he said.

No one was injured, and the state police fire marshal was called to determine the cause, Shuler said.

The Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company, Butler Bureau of Fire and Butler Ambulance Service also responded to the fire.

Please help in any way you can. $1 goes a long way and adds up. If you feel comfortable with sending it via Venmo, PayPal, or CashApp please let me know or reach out to her directly.
