Help Sarah Apply to U.S. PhD Programs

As many of you know, I spent three weeks in Uganda to learn about the culture and determine the feasibility of conducting my dissertation research there. Sarah was born and raised in Uganda and was my trusted guide throughout my stay. She has acted as my translator and teacher of Luganda - the local language (Weebale Nnyo, Sarah!), my tour guide, advocate, and friend. During one of our conversations, I discovered that Sarah has a Master's degree and aspires to earn a PhD in Psychology from a U.S. university.
What you may not know is that it is very expensive to prepare and apply for PhD programs. Sarah has not been able to work towards her dream because she works long hours to take care of her two children and ensure they receive a good education. My hope is to help her with expenses so that she can afford to apply to PhD programs. The deadlines to take the GRE exam are quickly approaching so she would need to start preparations now. Such expenses may include, but are not limited to:
1. Graduate Record Examination preparation materials (approx. $200) and test fees ($200-$250).
2. Application fees ($50 - $100 each).
3. Travel costs for interviewing at US institutions and relocation ($1000+).
4. The ability to work less hours so that she can gain research experience (Varies).
5. Household bills and other expenses that act as hurdles for PhD prep because she must work long hours to maintain a living for her and her two children (Varies).
Please note that admission to a PhD program is not guaranteed and that Sarah is in no way obligated to attend a PhD program - I just hope this gives her the opportunity to devote time to her PhD aspirations.
Anything you can give is much appreciated!
