Help Sarah Breedlove Fight Brain Cancer
Dear Friends & Family, my friend, Sarah, needs our help. Anything you can spare would be a blessing!
Sarah is a mother, a wife, a fellow artist & a dear friend who happens to have brain cancer. I am so hopeful in the progress she has made recently. Sarah has been seeing improvements in her health every week with her new treatments and needs help to continue!
Here is her story in her own words:
“On Jan. 29, 2018 I was sitting at our dining table when I had a seizure. I fell from my chair and hit the trash can which alerted Matt nearby. He said I was purple, not breathing, and drooling with my jaw clenched, which was very traumatic for him and my children as you can imagine. I was rushed to the hospital where I was eventually told I had a mass in my frontal right lobe. We had no health insurance at that time. We were able to get insurance later, but the tumor resection was not covered, and so we waited until we had the $7000 to cover the surgery that many friends and family members blessed us with.
The tumor was removed on March 19, 2018. I was diagnosed with anaplastic Oligodendroglioma, a rare form of brain cancer.
We saw multiple specialists with varying opinions on life expectancy ranging from 4-5years and 10-15 years. They began monitoring immediately afterwards, with MRI’s every three months in Dallas. Eventually the neuro-oncologist said there were signs of the tumor returning at the back of the cavity closer to the center of my brain. She recommended either chemo or radiation or a combination of both. We were told it could slow the growth, but the doctor admitted that those treatments could cause mutations into a more aggressive kind of cancer later. As this intervention could only possibly slow the cancer, and not eliminate it and it would certainly cause additional health problems, we began searching for an alternative. We were blessed to find an alternative therapy clinic in Dallas. I started treatments there on March 3, 2021, and have had drastic improvements in my overall health and energy.
It is unfortunately like most medical interventions, very costly and our insurance does not cover any of the cost. We are making the trip to Dallas every week and I am unable to work due to my current condition.
We have been able to make it about halfway through my recommended treatment regimen using the savings and resources we had, but now are at a point where we cannot continue without financial assistance.
We hope to reach our goal of $22,500 which is the estimated cost of the remaining treatment plan.”
THANK YOU for any amount you are able to give. THANK YOU for helping Sarah fight brain cancer!!
THANK YOU for supporting her and helping her regain her health to live a full life with her loving husband, Matt, her son and her daughter.
Sincerely,
Carrie Davis
