Help Sarah get the medical help she needs.

My name is Jenny Peterson. I met Sarah Helton when I began working with her at her current employer. We clicked well and as I got to know her, it was hard not to love her and want to walk along with her in her life struggles. This sweet friend of mine needs others to love and rally around her and help her through the dark season she is experiencing.

Sarah has been hospitalized 7 separate times throughout her life due to a dual diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder, and Bipolar Type 1. She had been doing well until recently, then her biggest support and therapist, Dr. Glenn Fraser was murdered by a patient on August 31st of 2021. She had seen him only a few days prior. Since becoming his patient in 2016, when she was having a particularly hard time she would call him for advice and comfort. He was her biggest support and she never felt the need to be hospitalized while under his care. After his death, things have been very hard for her. She will be seeing a new therapist, but due to the waitlist, she is unable to see him until November. She has been contacting the crisis lines over the last several weeks but realizes that she is in a bad place and needs to be admitted to an inpatient facility in Florida that specializes in her condition.

Her employer is not sympathetic to her medical needs. She will not be able to receive paid leave, and it is unclear if she will even be granted unpaid leave at this point in the process. Any money raised will help cover what her insurance does not, which at this point is estimated well above our current goal. Even though she has not asked, for it, I would love to help ease the stress of all of the bills she will be leaving behind until she can return to her job, if it still exists for her upon her return. Although Sarah has a support system, it is small and she needs our help.
