Help Sarah & Peter Get Back On Their Feet

Please join me in helping Sarah & Peter to offset unexpected expenses due to an accident that occurred as they started their new life journey, moving from the north to Victoria.
To make a long story short, they bought a new travel trailer to live in and a new-to-them truck, loaded up their pets & stuff and headed out. While travelling through the Rockies they were rear-ended by a tractor trailer. Thankfully no one was hurt - the travel trailer was not so lucky. The parties exchanged and reported to their insurances.
At first, it seemed like it would all be okay because they were rear-ended, the trucking company admitted fault and sent their dash cam footage off to ICBC. They ended their vacation, continued their journey & limped into Victoria to get the trailer assessed.
The assessments so far have revealed $14,000 in repair work needed.
Unfortunately, when they contacted the insurance to check on their claim, they learned they were not properly insured for the travel trailer. This was bad news, but they rallied and didn’t worry too much as the accident had not been their fault. When they contacted ICBC (the trucking company insurance) they learned that ICBC would not do anything for them, even though their client was at fault, because in May 2021 they instituted a lawsuit ban that means no matter what happens, you have to claim against your own insurance. As they were not properly insured, their own insurance said they couldn’t help them with any damages, even though it appeared from their in transit insurance slip that they were covered.
That can’t be true, you think…right? Nope, it is… We contacted lawyers. It is true.
Adding to this situation, when they went to re-register their new-to-them truck in BC, even though it passed a thorough mechanic’s inspection in Alberta (where it had been purchased), they learned that they needed an additional $6000 in repair work for it to be registered in BC. The truck is not worth adding this sum to, so they will be looking for a new new-to-them vehicle as well.
Both Sarah & Peter are looking for work, and what seemed like an exciting journey has turned into a bit of a nightmare. Although they would not want me to do this, I feel like friends and family would want to know and want to help them.
If you can assist them in offsetting this unexpected life bump, it would be much appreciated.
