Help Sarah Recover from Major Brain Surgery
Donation protected
On Monday, my little sister, Sarah, underwent major brain surgery to treat Chiari malformation, a condition where part of the brain extends into the spinal canal, causing severe headaches, dizziness, and other debilitating symptoms. This illness has left Sarah largely unable to work or live a normal life for years.
To address this, Sarah had decompression surgery, which involved several complex procedures. Part of her skull was removed to relieve pressure on her brain and spinal cord, and a dural patch was placed to create even more space for her brain. Additionally, she had a C1 laminectomy to create more space for her spinal cord, and part of her cerebellar tonsils was removed to further reduce pressure.
Sarah's mom, Mimi, has been by her side throughout this journey, helping with care and support. As Sarah faces months of recovery, her mom is taking time off work to assist her, adding to the financial strain. With medical bills, household expenses, and the loss of income, they need some extra help to get through this tough time.
I’m starting this fundraiser to support my little sister, Sarah, and her mom during the recovery process. The funds raised will go directly toward covering medical costs, household bills, and supporting them while Sarah is unable to work. Any contribution, big or small, will make a world of difference as Sarah focuses on healing and reclaiming her life.
Thank you so much for your support and kindness!
