Help Sarah travel to her Mom who had a Stroke
Donation protected
My Mom, Sharon Cholet, had a Stroke yesterday (4/19/25) in Albuquerque, NM where she moved back from Maui in 2023. She cannot fully speak or eat on her own and I need to go help my brother plan outpatient rehabilitation and organize her new living situation. This will mean taking a min of two weeks off work for me and my husband so I can travel and he can look after our four children. I have not traveled since moving to Maui in 2007 due to finances (large family expenses and living costs) except for when my Dad died in 2014, when I went for 2 days and my brother paid for my flight. Unfortunately, my extended family is unable to help me with travel or covering income loss during this time. I am humbly asking for assistance from you all to be able to see my Mom and help her transition to her new reality.
Update: Thank you all for your super generous donations! My Mom was able to get her feeding tube removed today and is waiting to move to an inpatient rehabilitation facility. I am planning to go help her, after here rehabilitation, in transitioning back home, in about 3 weeks if all goes well. I still need support to leave without income loss for about 2 weeks. We are blessed that her recovery is going so good considering, and are optimistic that in time, she will be able to speak again clearly and regain her independence.
