Help Sari Make Music Again: A Birthday Gift
Donation protected
**UPDATE 2** Wow, we have reached $1,000! I can't believe it. Now, I will be able to get Sari her new interface, a hard drive, and a license for her favorite recording software. I know there are still people who genuinely want to be a part of this gift, so I'm going to raise the goal to give them the space to do so. The next recording items on the list are headphones and plugins for the software. I am totally humbled by your generosity, and I know Sari will be blown away by this. Thank you so much!!
UPDATE 1: Because a lot of you are going crazy with your donations, and we still have a lot of people who will want to donate, I've raised the goal. If we hit $1000, Sari can get her favorite recording software Pro Tools on the new computer! You guys are trying to deck her out here. Thank you to everyone who has donated for your generosity
ORIGINAL STORY: If you're reading this, you know Sari. And if you know Sari, you know her passion for music. You know that she is always there to give to others, but never asks for anything herself.
That's where I come in. As her husband and best friend, I know her deeply. I know that music, for Sari, is a form of healing. It's a way that she can express things that have no other way out. And don't deny it, we all enjoy the beauty and originality of it!
Here's her current recording situation. She has two laptops: an old 2011 one that she made all the music you know and love on, and a new one that was a gift from her parents. She might be able to restore the old laptop, but it's not looking good. And the new one isn't compatible with her old recording equipment.
My idea is that if everyone who would like to give her a gift this year chips in *a little* (seriously, don't go crazy), I can get her the new equipment she needs. The interface that she needs normally costs ~$700, but I've found many "like new" units for ~$400. She would also need a new external hard drive because the new computer literally has 16GB of space.
And that's it! This year has been shockingly different for all of us, and some of the best things that have come out of it have been the creative ways we've found to celebrate each other. If you are able to (I know times are hard - even $1 makes you a part of the gift), and want to contribute, together as a community we can give Sari the gift of music. I can't think of anything better.
Please share with anyone you think would find joy in contributing to this gift. Secretly, though, because this will be a surprise. Her birthday is September 16th, so let's try to meet this goal by Sept 1st! And feel free to write her a birthday note in your comment :)
In Gratitude,
Mike
