Help Me Honor My Mother with a Proper Jewish Burial
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
With a heavy heart, I share that my beloved mother is currently in hospice after suffering a diabetic coma that has tragically led to a rapid and irreversible decline. Her doctors have informed us that she is not expected to live beyond the next few days.
My mother is a proud Black American Jewish woman whose life was a beautiful testament to resilience, faith, and unconditional love. As I prepare for the unthinkable, I am faced with the heartbreaking reality that I do not have the financial means to cover all of the bereavement expenses.
In Jewish tradition, it is customary—and deeply important—for burial to take place within one day of passing. This sacred ritual ensures dignity, peace, and alignment with our faith, and I am doing everything in my power to honor that for her.
Unfortunately, I recently completed my time on unemployment and have exhausted my savings covering caregiving needs, transportation, and other urgent expenses. I am now reaching out for help from my community and beyond to raise the funds needed to lay my mother to rest in accordance with our religious customs.
Your donation will go directly toward:
• Religious arrangements per Jewish burial tradition
• A simple, respectful graveside service
• Bereavement expenses as I am a contractor without sufficient PTO
Our goal is $2,000, and every contribution—no matter how small—will bring us closer to honoring my mother with the dignity, love, and care she has always given to others.
If you are unable to give financially at this time, please consider sharing this campaign with others. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean more than words can say.
Thank you for helping me carry my mother home.
With deep gratitude,
Sasha
