Help Sati get to the World Scout Jamboree!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sati, and I am asking for your support. I am 13 years old and a member of the 1st Henley and Wootton Scout troop.
I am thrilled to be the only scout in my area selected to attend the 25th World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) in South Korea, and I will be one of the youngest going.
The WSJ is an international Scouting event for young people between 14-17. It is a gathering of Scouts and Guides from all over the world and takes place every 4 years, each time hosted by a different country.
It is a programme to promote global development, cultural understanding and adventure! This is a huge opportunity in which more than 40,000 Scouts gather for 3 weeks of new experiences and education beyond school. The 25th Jamboree will take place in SaeManGeum during August 2023. The trip will also enable me and others to make long-term friendships with people from different countries and experience different cultures.
As part of the Jamboree journey, those taking part are asked to fund-raise the money themselves, which means I need to raise £3,500 between now and next summer in order to go. This will not only cover the cost of me going but also enable the less fortunate from around the world to attend.
Some Scouts from poorer countries would not be able to go; however, with your help, they can. A portion of what each participant raises goes to less fortunate Scouts to get them to South Korea! Going to a mass social event such as the Jamboree would boost their confidence and ability to interact with others. So I ask you please to donate whatever you can and help shape the future.
I am working hard with friends, family, fellow Scouts and those within my community to fundraise, with activities such as car washing, bake sales and bag packing in supermarkets.
I am hugely grateful for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Any donation, big or small, will be massively appreciated.
For those who want to be kept informed of the trip when it happens, just ask me for a link to follow the action.
Thank you so much for supporting me!
