Help Savannah and Eric be with Baby Harlow

Hello, I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Savannah Fortner-Chabot and Eric Bois as they unexpectedly and traumatically welcomed Baby Harlow Eleanor Irene Bois into the world, weighing 6lbs 11lbs at 2:07am March 23, 2024, 6 weeks early.

On March 20, 2024 Savannah was experiencing painful cramping which ended up with her going to the emergency department in Rainy River, where they live. The doctor on-call that night did not step foot in the hospital but told nursing staff what to do over the phone. With Savannah having a high risk pregnancy due to her being Type-1 diabetic, no tests were done to check on Baby Harlow still in womb.

3 days later, Savannah was still experiencing abdominal cramping and discomfort which led to her water breaking at home. Savannah and Eric rushed to the Rainy River hospital to get an ambulance to Fort Frances due to Savannah's high risk pregnancy, where they would wait over an hour for an ambulance that wasn't coming. With no care being done on mom or baby, Savannah and Eric made the decision to rush themselves to Fort Frances and only making it in time for Savannah to start pushing as she was already 8cm dialated at this point.

Due to the medical neglect Savannah experienced days prior, Baby Harlow was born limp and not breathing. Harlow, Eric and Savannah were flown to Winnipeg where Harlow remains cool and on life holding support to monitor brain damage and other deficits due to having no oxygen and having CPR performed on her. As of right now she has been diagnosed with acute brain damage. In a few days, they will slowly start warming Harlow to run tests to determine the severity of the brain damage.

All funds raised will go towards food, parking passes, unexpected expenses, and bills while Savannah and Eric are in Winnipeg for an unknown amount of time with Eric missing work to support Savannah and Harlow.
