Help Savannah and Seth Rebuild After Helene
Donation protected
My sister Savannah and her partner Seth had their lives upended by Hurricane Helene this week.
They watched the waters rise as Helene made landfall in their neighborhood of St. Petersburg, Florida. While they were fortunate to evacuate safely with their animals on the night of the storm, Savannah & Seth took shelter in a parking garage that night. The next day, they found their ground floor apartment flooded with 3 feet of water. Not only that, but the apartment complex's sewage system backed up during the storm, spewing raw sewage into the flooded apartment, making their home and everything in it unsalvageable.
It is now impossible to return home due to mold growth. Forced to throw away all their furniture, mementos, art supplies, tools, etc., Savannah and Seth sorted through the mess and took anything they could to a small storage unit while they move into a hotel, regroup, and try to figure out their next steps.
To say this week has been difficult for them is an understatement. They are a young couple & their animals trying their best to navigate a natural disaster.
Clearly, there are so many people in need of assistance in the wake of Hurricane Helene, but this is one specific family that could use your help. This one hits close to home because this woman is my sister.
Savannah and Seth are both from Kansas City. If you're looking for a place to do some good in the face of this unfathomable storm, please donate what you can to help them get back on their feet. Funds raised will go toward getting them settled in a new apartment, replacing their bed + furniture, food, and the tools that Seth uses to work as a local handyman. Send some love and support their way. 100% of the donations raised will go to their recovery.
